Pakistani women come to LA for “Consciousness Raising” trip

EIGHT ISLAMIC FEMALE students are in Los Angeles to attend “Consciousness Raising of Pakistani Women on Contemporary Academic and Social Issues 2016.” The trip, funded by the U.S. State Department, involves panel discussions on a range of topics, including media images of women, fashion, creating green urban spaces, and even religion. Jennifer Lee, the U.S. Coordinator for the trip said, “I believe that face to face dialogue with both US and Pakistani women can create change for our countries.”

The first panel is Sunday, July 10th titled, “USA+ Pakistan: Seeing Each Other and Expanding Our Vision,” which will take place at the Los Angeles Central Library.
