EARLIER THIS YEAR, the Metropolitan Museum of Art showcased work from Auguste Rodin, the first modernist sculptor. Taking place now at the Brooklyn Museum is another exhibit of this artist’s work curated by Lisa Small. Rodin at the Brooklyn Museum: The Body in Bronze presents more versions of “The Gates of Hell” and “The Burghers of Calais,” as well as a much more expansive showing of “Monument to Balzac.” The blog Hyperallergic wrote, “This show may include many of the same works in various different forms as the Met exhibition, but somehow the Brooklyn Museum is able to pack much more emotional heft.”
